Joseph Kony (born c. 1961)[1] is a Ugandan guerrilla group leader, head of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), a group engaged in a violent campaign to establish theocratic government based on the Ten Commandments throughout Uganda. He is responsible for the kidnapping of over 66,000 children. The girls become sex slaves; the boys soldiers.
After learning about the atrocities being committed by Kony, a group of people decided to form Invisible Children and set out to stop him. As a result of their efforts, Obama deployed 100 army advisers to Uganda to teach the natives how to defend themselves against Kony with the hopes of putting an end to his violence.
