Hi, I'm Hafapea. Prior to getting knocked up in 2004 I was a wild and free gypsy. I traveled all over the country and was making plans to see the world. Now I'm off on a different adventure. One that is perhaps more thrilling. Since 2005 I have been the single mother of the world's greatest boy and a full time college student. I have also become an entrepreneur. I started my own little shop on Zazzle where I sell unique gift ideas featuring my abstract fractal art, pixel art and clipart creations, Designs by Hafapea. There are hundreds of graphic design tutorial sites online, but few of them are educational. Even though they are written for Paint Shop Pro versions 9, 10 and 11, Manon's tutorials are some of the best that you will find for actually learning how to create graphics. If you have a basic familiarity with where things are located in your favorite graphics program: Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, or any other, you easily duplicate her lessons and learn how to create some awesome effects for personal and/or business use. Just remember that if you are going to use the finished product in a commercial manner, make sure the images that you use are either in the public domain, your own, or licensed for that purpose.
As always, these images make terrific digital gifts for friends, family and colleagues. If you know someone who would love some unique graphics for their Web site or to use as a signature tag in their emails, then this type of thing will just tickle them pink :)!

This is a terrific tutorial from Obsidian Dawn on how to use brushes in a graphics program. It is specifically written for Photoshop, however, if you are familiar enough with your graphics program to know where the tools she discusses are located, then you can use these techniques there as well. It will easily translate to Paint Shop Pro but, since that is the only other program I use, I don't know whether or not you can apply it to others. Either way, it should help spark a bit of creative inspiration for any digital artist :)
